Back and Neck Pain
The origin of neck and spinal pain, mucsle pain and stiffness and in some cases numbness and tingling from nerve compression is easily understood with an explanation of Biomechanics. Basically biomechanics is the study of the relationship between how something us designed and how it functions. With the human body, biomechanics relates to the ideal postural model which involves the entire skeletal system, along with all supportive tissues including muscles, ligaments, joints, and nerves. If there`s one word to describe the reason back, neck and muscle pain develop it`s Balance. Balance here refers to the ideal postural model where everything is symmetrical and each side of the body is even, and a mirror image of the other. When trauma to the body results in this ideal model becoming unsymmetrical, then an eneven distribution of the compressing forces of gravity and activity related stress lead to uneven wear and tear on the joints in the spine, the muscles etc. Everything supporting the body and responsible for movement is out of kilter and much like a domino effect, results in symptoms. So simply put, there`s a cause for every symptom and when that cause is properly treated the symptom will resolve and heal. If you have a sports related injury, an unexpected fall or a car accident, the wrenching force involved can cause posture to become off center. What we do at our clinic is to find the areas causing the problem and put a plan together to treat all areas involved, the joints, mucsles, ligaments, tendons and indirectly by releasing compression, the nerves. Our plan is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible, to allow you to return to your normal lifestyle without pain recurruing, and then to equip you with a customized program of exercices you can follow at home to keep you flexible and strong. Every professional team in the country including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS, or football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer all have team chiropractors and therapists for massage and physical therapy. We use the same approach they do, because it works! Find the cause of imbalance and correct it! That`s Biomechanics defined.
